Rainbow The rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon caused by reflection, refraction, and diffuse of light in drops that produce a spectrum of light that appears in the sky. The rainbow usually has a rainbow in the shape of a circular bow. In the primary rainbow, the bow shows red on the outside and purple on the inside. The rainbow is caused by light refracted upon entering a water drop and then reflected in the back of the drip and refracted upon exiting. In a double rainbow, a second bow appears outside the primary bow, and the sequence is inverted, with red on the side of the bow. This is caused by light reflected twice in the inside of a drip before leaving it
